Plastic Collection Drive by Chintan NGO at Ek Pahel Pathshala 22-01-2020

To bring out behavioral change and create awareness, on 22 Jan, 2020, Chintan conducted Plastic Collection Drive at Ek Pahal Pathshala, approx 50 kg of Plastic Waste was collected and sent to Nagar Nigam for proper disposal. Three students Khushi, Nancy & Lucky from Ek Pahel Pathshala collected maximum plastic wastage will be falicitated and given certificates. Chintan, a Delhi based NGO, to address the issue of plastic pollution, is in partnership with Government of Japan and UN Environment Program, in a project titled “Promotion of counter measures against plastic litter in South East Asia and India” that has been initiated in India. The project seeks to identify the sources and pathways of major plastic leakage in India and to foster local partnerships for leakage reduction and implement necessary actions including studies, outreach and pilot activities in the selected areas Chintan is working with UNEP and diverse stakeholders in Agra to enable 200,000 stakeholders from schools, RWAs, corporates, hospitality industry etc. in Agra to understand the impact of plastics on rivers and oceans and therefore reduce plastic usage and improve plastic management.
